LEICESTER are strongly represented in Thursday’s British Under-19 Final, which takes place at Redcar.
Lion Cubs captain Joe Thompson is one of the favourites for the event, and he is joined by fellow team members Mickie Simpson, Max Perry and Vinnie Foord in the line-up, along with club mascot Max James.
Frustratingly, Dan Thompson misses out as Thursday is the final day of his compulsory 12-day absence for concussion, and he will return for the Watling JCB Lions’ trip to Scunthorpe on Friday.
That means Leon Flint starts as favourite at the Ecco Arena, and other likely challengers include Belle Vue Colts trio Harry McGurk, Nathan Ablitt and Jake Mulford.
